Vernissage

Objectives:

A vernissage can be used to present group results- mostly those of similar content. (If you have different content, you need to equip each member with a worksheet to note down the important information.) The students need to develop communication skills (explain and develop their ideas) and speak freely about a topic in front of others.

Instructions:

The group members form a new group and walk through the classroom in their new groups to look at the different posters/exhibitions and talk about their work once they have reached it. Silent vernissage- The students walk around the classroom individually and have a look at all the presentations. Active vernissage- The “visitors” write down comments to each poster on a piece of paper and hang them underneath the poster. The group to whom the poster belongs then corrects or improves its work to reflect the comments.

    1. The posters are hung around the classroom.

   2. The original groups split up to form new groups. Each new group should have at least one member from each of the original groups.

   3. The groups walk clockwise around the room and “visit” the posters.

  4. Every group member presents and explains his/her poster/work to the other students of his new group and answers questions.
